Denison Opens with win over Hope

The Denison Big Red women's soccer team hosted the Flying Dutch of Hope College marking their first victory of the 2007 season. The Big Red looked strong netting two goals to Hope’s single goal.

Denison’s first goal was scored by freshman Maggie Hoskin in the 44^th minute in the first half. Sarah Ash (right) clinched the win with a goal in the 63^rd minute of the second half.

Katie Lovinger scored the Flying Dutch’s only goal of the game in the 68^th minute. Denison goalkeepers, senior Liz Gillette and sophomore Courtney Cobb kept Hope to only four shots on goal, while Denison fired nine shots on goal.

Tomorrow the 22^nd ranked Big Red will take on the 12^th ranked University of Rochester at Barclay-Thomsen Field at 12:00 pm.
