Anne YoungAfter a nearly 2 1/2 hour delay the Big Red came out of the gates quickly, scoring two first half goals en route to a 2-0 victory over Wittenberg on Wednesday night at Barlcay-Thomsen Field.

Senior midfielder Anne Young (left) broke the scoreless tie in the 21st minute when she scored off an assist by Jessie Birdwhistell. With Birdwhistell readying for a shot attempt from the left side of the goal, Wittenberg keeper Meghan O'Rourke came out to challenge the shot and lost her footing on the soggy turf. Birdhistell sent the ball back out to Young who blasted the ball past O'Rourke and into the bottom right corner of the net. Megan Pike
