

Cochran's Header Wins Game Against Allegheny
The 10th ranked Big Red put the contest's lone goal on the board in the 22nd minute en route to a 1-0 victory over Allegheny College on Saturday afternoon in Western Pennsylvania.
The Denison offense kept the Gators busy for the entire 90 minutes as they outshot the Gators 25-4 while putting 10 shots on goal. At 22:08 Denison's Katie Eckenhoff attempted a corner kick and Kim Cochran (left) headed the ball past Gator keeper Michelle Welker for the game's only goal.
Cochran finished with three shots and Sarah Ash led DU with seven shots, four of which were on goal. The victory marks the third consecutive shutout for Denison. Goalkeeper Liz Gillette (right) played all 90 minutes and made two saves. For Allegheny, Welker finished with eight saves.
Denison improves to 10-1 overall and 2-0 in the North Coast Athletic Conference. Allegheny drops to 7-5 overall and 0-2 in conference play. The Big Red will be back in action on Wednesday, Oct. 11 when they host Wittenberg University.
