

Big Red Dominates Pomona in Shutout
The sixth ranked Denison Big Red women's soccer team sure seems to have adjusted to California time quickly.
Denison disposed of Pomona-Pitzer College 6-0 on Saturday in the first of two games on the west coast for DU.
The Big Red took a commanding 4-0 lead in the first half behind a pair of goals by senior Tammy Hoch and one each goal by Jessie Birdwhistell and Anne Young. In the second half Megan Pike put Denison up 5-0 and Young's penalty kick sent Denison to the 6-0 win.
Pomona-Pitzer, who began the year ranked 17th in the NSCAA Division III Coaches Poll, managed only eight shots to Denison's 25 and were outcornered 12-2.
Denison (4-0) goalkeeper Liz Gillette made four saves in 75 minutes. Courtney Cobb played 15 minutes and made two saves.
